Track Lost Android Phone Even If Tracker Was Not Installed

If you have installed tracking app, you can track your lost smartphone. Also, you can do a lot of other things like take snaps etc. Even, if you have a basic phone then you can track it with the IMEI number.

But, what if you haven't installed any tracking app? Don't worry, here we have the solution for that situation.

In one of my earlier articles, I have listed 5 apps to find lost android phone but keeping those users in mind who have a basic phone, rather than smartphone, we introduced guide to trace cell phones using IMEI number. But, the problem with both the methods was that, you were required to do something with your phone to track them later when they lost.

For example, an Android tracking app should be installed in users device or IMEI number should be registered to track them later but in most of the situations, what happens is that, we don’t have any tracking app installed or IMEI registered in our smartphone, when we loose them.

At this time "Lookout Plan B" app comes in handy.

What is "Lookout Plan B"?

Lookout Plan B is a free android device tracking app available to download for free at Google play store. It lets you track your lost Android phone which didn’t have any tracking app installed in it or the tracking app is not working at the moment.

How "Plan B" Works?

The app requires a Google account (which you were using in your lost phone) and an android phone (You can use your friend's phone). Now, follow these easy steps to use Plan B:

Step 1: Sign in to your Android Market (Google Account) and visit Plan B app page. Make sure, you’re using the same Google account which is connected to your lost device and visiting the desktop web version of Google Play from Android phone.

Step 2: Now, click on ‘Install’ button. Plan B will automatically start downloading to your lost device remotely. When this android tracker will get installed on your device, you’ll get email at Gmail from the app notifying you that you can now track lost android device.

Step 3: Then this android tracker will automatically send you the google map link to track lost android phone/tablet at Gmail. Location will be accurate with few meters difference.

Step 4: Once the app has located your lost android device, it will send you a series of emails with refined location updates.

Step 5: If you’re not able to track it within 10 minutes then you can text “locate” and you’ll start getting series of Google Maps location links to track lost android device.

Among all the lost android tracking app available on the Google play, Plan B have come up with the most innovative and indeed very useful idea. This android tracker have crossed over 1,000,000 downloads and got very positive users review too.
