How To Move Mails From One Email Account To Another

If you are using an email service provider and due to some reasons you wants to change it, like to shift from Yahoo! Mail to Gmail. The main problem comes because of those important emails residing at you mailbox.

As they are very important so you don’t want to loose them in sake of new or much comfortable mail service. So here is, how you can shift from one email service provider to another popular mailing service.


Importing Old Email & Contacts

The first and foremost thing comes in this process is to importing emails and contacts from the old webmail service. Almost every mailing service is having import feature, which lets you to import all your old emails and contact at one place and make them easy to download.

1. For Gmail

Step 1 : Sign in to Gmail. Go to setting by clicking on gear icon at the top right corner.

Step 2 : From Gmail settings, select the Accounts & Import tab on Gmail’s settings screen and click the Import mail and contacts link.

Step 3 : Clicking that “Import mail and contacts” will open a pop-up window where you need to put your email account and password to start this process. Now, you just need to wait. Gmail will automatically import your mails and contacts. The process may take time, depending upon the number of emails and size of your contact list.

2. For Yahoo! Mail

Yahoo! Mail doesn't have import function but if you are using Yahoo! Mail Plus (the paid version) then you can have this feature.

3. For Outlook/Hotmail/Windows Live

Microsoft Webmail services like Outlook, Hotmail & Windows Live are not having this easy mail & contact import feature but Microsoft, The Software Giant has partnered with TrueSwitch Wizard to import email from other accounts.

Just use the TrueSwitch Form where you need to enter email account & password of both of your old webmail service & Hotmail account.

TrueSwitch for Outlook- You can Copy your email messages, Copy your address book, Copy your calendar, Tell your contacts about your Outlook.com or Hotmail address and also Forward emails for 90 days to your Outlook.com or Hotmail address.
