How To Find Stolen Mobile Using IMEI Number

Many apps let you track your lost/stolen smartphone’s via real-time geographic location whether your phone is switched off or on. But, what about the simple phones that are not having Android OS or iOS?

Here is the way to trace your lost/stolen cellphones and devices using IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) Number. Of course, Each cellphone, tablet, data card and smartphones have their unique IMEI numbers. So you can use this Tracking method to locate any of these devices.


Know Your IMEI Number:

The primary thing you need to know is your device’s IMEI Number. It is available at the company sticker that  is available on your device. While having Serial No., Model No., etc, the sticker is also having that device’s unique IMEI Number.

You can also dial *#06# to to view your cellphone’s IMEI Number on its display. You can also check its Invoice that is also having the cellphone’s IMEI Number.

Legal Operations:

Call cellphone service center immediately and tell them to block your IMEI. After IMEI Number has been blocked, the cellphone is rendered useless and hence thief will not be able to abuse your cellphone.

Now, you need to file an FIR in Police Station. Take your IEMI Number, FIR Complain Letter and go to cellphone’s service center.

Cellphone service centers are having there own software that will let them to track the real-time location of your lost/stolen cellphone. They can also trace the new number, if the thief have changes SIM Card. So, it will help you to get your cellphone and police to arrest the cellphone thief.
