Meta tags are the tags which describes your site and tells the search engines what your site is all about. Adding meta tags is an important factor in Search Engine Optimization. Meta tags allows search engines to index your web pages.
In other words, meta tags communicate with the search engines and tells more information about your site and make it index correctly.

There are many Meta tags, used in html like description meta tag, title meta tag, keyword meta tag, author meta tag, robots meta tag. But we mostly use three important Meta tag. Keyword, description, author.
Here’s how to add them to your Blogger blog:
Types of Meta Tags
1. Description - Meta Tag
The description Meta tag is used to describe your blog content.

2. Keywords - Meta Tag
Keyword Meta tag is most powerful Meta tag, it also helps in SEO. It provides the main keywords of your blog to Search engines. This is the most useful Meta Tag for SEO.
<meta content='KEYWORDS HERE' name='keywords'/>
Note: Put comma after every key-word.
3. Author - Meta Tag
The author Meta tag is used to tell about the author to the visitor of a site.
<meta content='AUTHOR NAME HERE' name='author'/>
How to add Meta tags in a blogger blog
1. Sign in to your blogger account.
2. Click on template from the drop down menu.
3. Save/Backup your template.
4. Now you have two options Customize and Edit HTML, click on Edit HTML button.
5. Now search the below code (use Ctrl+f to search).

6. Now paste the below code just after the above code.
<meta content='DESCRIPTION HERE' name='description'/>
<meta content='KEYWORDS HERE' name='keywords'/>
<meta content='AUTHOR NAME HERE' name='author'/>

Now paste the below code just after the above code.

Customize the above code:
- Replace 'DESCRIPTION HERE' with your own description.
- Replace 'KEYWORDS HERE' with keywords of your blog.
- And last replace 'AUTHOR NAME HERE' with the author's name or Your name.
