If you have created a Facebook profile for your business because you were not aware about the Facebook's terms & policies then Facebook gives you a chance to convert that profile into a page.

Facebook has made it clear that it will be taking more aggressive steps to remove personal profiles used for business purposes. The page “Insights” provides up to date information about what kind of interaction and reach each post on the page generated. Insights will break down your fan base by gender, age, location, and how they came to land on your page. This kind of data enables you to stop shooting in the dark and serve up content that keeps your business connections buzzing.

While as a business on a personal Facebook profile, you have no access to Facebook Insights. You are unable to export and digest the information that can help you understand your customer, what they like and don’t.

Facebook contests are often seen in tabs below the Cover Photo. You can't host a contest on your personal page because the third party apps are just not there. Contests build engagement and engagement enlarges your business.
